Lamanai Tours
La’man’ain is the indigenous name for this once majestic Mayan City. In the Yucatec Mayan language, it means “submerged crocodile”. La’man’ain was settled in 1500 BC, abandoned in post classic 1800 AD. This is an all day tour and includes the following:
USD $40 or BZD $80 per person
- 9:00 am pick up at the hotel
- Guided boat tour of the New River
- Soft drinks and bottled water
- Guided tour of Lamanai Site and the Museum

- A wholesome Belizean lunch consisting of Rice and Beans, Stewed Chicken, Potato Salad and Fried Plantains
- Drop off at the Hotel at approximately 4:00 pm

Jungle River Tours provides bottled water and soft drinks to the guests. The Belizean sun is unforgiving. Be sure to keep your body hydrated. Drink plenty liquids.
The rain in this part of the country is unpredictable and can come quite suddenly. Keep a waterproof bag handy for your camera and other important items. Your tour guide is one of the Novelo brothers and comes from a family that has been operating this tour for the last 15 years.
On days when Mother Nature is good to us, you will have the opportunity to see the Morlet and American Crocodiles, insect feeding bats, green and spiny tail iguanas, and an array of orchids and birds all thriving in their natural habitat.
Other essentials you need to take:
- Sunscreen SPF 15 or greater
- A hat
- Mosquito Repellent
- The walk along the trails and the climb up the temples can get slippery during the rainy season. A pair of hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes is highly recommended
- USD $5 payable to the Dept of Archaeology at the site
